Nikon D300 GPS feature walk through

A demonstration of how the GPS interface works and what to expect. The built-in GPS interface requires the GPS receiver to be set to protocol NEMA IN NEMA OUT. It may require you to purchase two cables. The serial cable for your GPS and the GPS cable for your Camera. The Nikon MC-35 has a male 9 pin serial interface. The company I mention at the end of the video is JOBO.

    @valenk1 MC-35 GPS Serial Adapter Cord from Nikon as well as a usb serial adapter since my laptop did not have a serial port. You can google nikon serial cable for cheaper after market models.

    what kind of cable to you use to connect the etrex and your nikon?

    Heading will only work with Solmeta Geotagger Pro Kompass or Solmeta Geotagger N2 Kompass as far as I know.

    It is not neccesary to buy a gps just for the NIKON. I use my D80 with a Suunto x9mi. I perfectly synchronize both clocks the camera one and the watch one, and thats it, you get a lot of data for each photo including speed in the moment of the taken, and temperatute, direction, coordinates, etc.

    I used a video capture card with the tv RCA output. I haven’t experimented with the HDMI yet, but it should work fine if you have a device that can record from it.

    Excellent video – thanks! Hope you don’t mind a stupid question, but how did you record the D300′s LCD output? Was it with the output from the D300′s HDMI interface into a digital video recorder?

    I just wanted you to know, that you are being offensive to people who are in hong kong and people born in Hong Kong (like me). BTW iPhones are very popular in Hong Kong, not like the US and Canada, almost nobody has iPhones. When I was still on Hong Kong, half the people in my school had iPhones. If you have an iPhone, then you shouldn’t hate Hong Kong, otherwise, you are an ass.

    for you guys that are curious, i took the liberty of finding out where these coordinates point to… (+22° 30′ 12.76″, +114° 07′ 50.26″) and it is Hong Kong/Macao lol
